State government to boost media skills with new institute

Jharkhand’s Ministry of Culture and Information organised a signing event on July 22, where JFDC and SRFTI entered a strategic MOU to nurture talent in film, television and digital media. The agreement promises SRFTI’s expertise in curriculum delivery, faculty exchange and technical resources for the proposed Jharkhand Film and Television Institute. Short‑duration certification programmes will commence immediately, targeting sound design, post‑production editing, animation, narrative writing, cinematography, directing and production management. Officials expect the institute to become a catalyst for high‑quality skill development and to position Jharkhand as a regional media hub.
