From ‘Jassi’ Fame to Film Roles: Monna Singh’s Journey

The success of Jassi opened doors for Monna Singh beyond the small screen. After winning the first season of the dance reality series “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa” in 2006, she moved on to feature in Aamir Khan’s blockbuster “3 Idiots” (2009) and took supporting roles in films such as “Lal Singh Chaddha” and “Munja”. Her transition from television to cinema demonstrated the versatility that the audience initially discovered only through the modest character of Jassi. While the show kept her personal image under lock and key, her later projects allowed her to showcase a broader acting range.
