Jason Sanjay’s Debut ‘Sigma’ Gets New October Premiere
Mumbai, August 18 – “Sigma”, the debut film of Jason Sanjay – who is also the son of Tamil Nadu chief minister Vijay – will now be released worldwide on October 2, 2026.
The shift from the previously announced July 31 date was confirmed by Laika Productions via its social media channels. The decision follows internal discussions about optimal market timing.
The film stars Sandeep Kishan in the lead role and features actress Katherine Triesa in a key dance sequence. It was shot in both Tamil and Telugu, with locations in Chennai and Salem, and filming concluded in December of the previous year.
The narrative follows a rule‑abiding anti‑hero caught up in a heist, treasure hunt, and a series of comedic and mysterious events. Production updates shared on Instagram showed the crew celebrating the completion of shooting and the release of behind‑the‑scenes footage.
“Mark the date – October 2 – for an unforgettable heist adventure,” the producer’s Instagram caption read, signalling confidence in the film’s box‑office prospects.
