Anupam Kher’s Los Angeles Encounter Boosts India‑US Cultural Relations

Actor Anupam Kher, who has been on an extensive overseas tour, recounted his recent visit to the Indian Trade Embassy in Los Angeles where he met Dr. K.J. Srinivas, the country’s top commercial diplomat. Kher expressed gratitude for the welcoming lunch and the chance to salute the Indian flag on foreign soil, calling it a moment that filled him with pride.

The Los Angeles stop is part of Kher’s schedule for the multilingual drama “Jane Pahchane Anjane,” a production that weaves Hindi, Punjabi and English dialogue. The play, featuring Swaroop Sampat in a pivotal role, premiered in Houston and is now touring major cities across the United States and Canada, including Vancouver.

Beyond the stage, Kher is attached to several film projects: the musical “Ye Prem Mol Liya” starring Ayushmann Khurrana, the historical epic “Shri Ram Janmabhoomi” where he portrays late VHP leader Ashok Singh, and the comedy sequel “Khosla Ka Ghosla 2,” recently completed after shooting in Delhi’s suburbs.
