Isha Singh Shares Research Journey for Autism Role in ‘Juhi Mui’

Preparing for the lead in "Juhi Mui", Isha Singh embarked on an intensive research trek into autism. The actress revealed that her preparation involved digging through academic papers, watching documentaries, and holding conversations with families living with autism.

She explained that autism is a neurodevelopmental condition, not a disease, and that the misconception that it can be caught or spread is a harmful myth. "Understanding the science behind it helped me shed personal biases and portray Juhi with respect," Singh said.

Singh also stressed that autistic children often bring unique talents to the table – they can be exceptionally bright, deeply empathetic, and incredibly loving. Instead of trying to alter these traits, she believes society should provide a supportive environment that acknowledges each child's individuality.

On set, Singh worked closely with a movement coach to capture the nuanced ways Juhi might walk, sit, or react to sensory stimuli. She aimed to reflect the reality that many autistic people feel emotions intensely but may express them differently. Singh hopes the series will prompt audiences to rethink preconceived notions and foster a culture of inclusion.
