Beyond Politics: Isha Koppikar’s Message on Real Patriotism

On August 18, actress Isha Koppikar posted a video discussing what she calls true patriotism. She argued that love for India should not be confined to political loyalty but should reflect a commitment to the nation's welfare.

Koppikar said that calling love for the country “blind devotion” does not diminish its value; rather, it showcases her willingness to be labeled a blind patriot.

She emphasized that real patriotism is demonstrated through concrete actions that enhance the nation’s growth. Simply declaring love, she noted, falls short of genuine devotion.

Using an analogy of two children, Koppikar contrasted a child focused on personal gain with one who leverages received support to improve the lives of others—a mindset she believes should be adopted by citizens.

She appealed for a shift in perspective as India moves forward, urging people to become contributors to the new India. Whether described as a devotee, blind patriot, or nationalist, Koppikar affirmed she will not shy away from her beliefs.

The video closed with her reaffirming her love for India, stating, “I love my country and trust in India. Jai Hind.”
