'Irumudi' Release Confirmed for 21 August After Certification

Following the Central Board of Film Certification's (CBFC) approval with a U/A certificate, the Telugu drama "Irumudi" is now officially set to release on 21 August. Directed by acclaimed South Indian filmmaker Shiva Nervean, the film features Ravi Teja as the protagonist, alongside a strong supporting cast that includes Priya Bhavani Shankar, Sai Kumar, and Baby Nakshatra.

The announcement was made by Maitri Movie Makers on social media, where a still of Ravi Teja was shared with a message urging fans to book tickets for the upcoming family‑oriented thriller. Producers Naveen Yerneni and W. Ravi Shankar are also credited with bringing the project to fruition.

The story’s title, "Irumudi," references the traditional pilgrimage of Lord Ayyappa, with Teja portraying an everyday man who wears the sacred Ayyappa chain. Earlier speculation about a postponed launch was curbed by a fresh poster that reiterated the original 21 August date.

With this being Ravi Teja's 77th feature film—temporarily labelled "RT77" before its final name—dubbing began in the second week of July. A snippet of Teja’s dubbing shows him saying, "I only have one daughter and her name is Mannama," underscoring the film’s heartfelt tone.
