Industry Mourns Loss of Iconic Actor Nana Patkar
The Indian film community is grieving the loss of veteran actor Nana Patkar, whose death was confirmed on October 8. Fellow actor Raza Murad took to social media to express his condolences and share memories of Patkar’s extraordinary character.
Murad highlighted Patkar’s dual nature: a fierce performer on screen and a compassionate individual off screen. He pointed out that Patkar habitually donated a large portion of his income to the underprivileged, earning him the reputation of a benevolent leader within the industry.
Patkar’s humility was evident in his modest living choices. He preferred simple attire like pajamas and kurta and lived in a small house despite having the means to build a lavish estate. Murad remembered how Patkar’s home had become a customary stop for him during Ganesh Chaturthi, a custom that this year could not be fulfilled due to Patkar’s relocation of the deity’s idol to Pune. The actor’s legacy, Murad asserted, will remain etched in the hearts of fans and colleagues alike.
