Immigration Notice Against Bollywood Star Imran Khan Faces Court Review
An FRRO alert has instructed actor Imran Khan to exit the country no later than Oct 28, alleging breaches of the Foreigners Act. The star is reportedly contemplating a legal challenge in the Bombay High Court, with litigation handled by MZM Legal LLP. The notice follows his involvement in a protest on Oct 10 at August Kranti Maidan, where demonstrators demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Law enforcement briefly held Imran and other participants before releasing them. Imran holds US nationality, a US passport, and an OCI card, raising concerns about his right to engage in political activities. Former BJP MP Kirti Somaiya has written to the Home Ministry and immigration authorities, seeking clarification on the legality of a foreign national taking part in such rallies and urging a look‑out circular.
