Hetal Yadav on Sridevi, Discipline and Changing Bollywood

Mumbai: Actress Hetal Yadav, who began her career as a choreographer, has reflected on her experience of working alongside several celebrated figures in the Indian film industry. Among them is the iconic actress Sridevi, about whom Hetal shared a memorable observation.

Hetal said she considers herself fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with industry veterans during her long career. She has been part of many regional films as well as commercial Hindi productions. Though she has not shared the screen with Sridevi as an actor, she has worked in several films backed by producer Boney Kapoor.

Hetal recalled her interaction with Sridevi during the shoot of a song for the film Pukar. She said it was a chance to speak with the actress directly. At that point, Sridevi's elder daughter Janhvi Kapoor had perhaps already been born.

According to Hetal, Sridevi stood out for her discipline and honesty toward her work. She said that anyone who was close to Sridevi would know this quality well. Hetal feels that such commitment is rare in the industry today.

Hetal also discussed how the path to acting has evolved. She noted that earlier generations of new actors had to struggle more, facing a different set of challenges. While today also has its difficulties, she believes the doors have opened wider.

OTT platforms, television, and films now provide numerous avenues for newcomers. She added that social media has made it easier to win audiences, particularly for artists without access to strong resources. In her view, today offers many advantages that were not available before.
