‘Heart Controller’: How Urvashi Rautela blends Indian heritage with electronic dance music

The newly released single “Heart Controller” sees Urvashi Rautela weaving centuries‑old Indian mythology into the fabric of contemporary EDM. The song’s verses reference the Mahabharata’s themes of lineage and honor, while the drop layers synths that echo traditional percussion.

Rautela, who debuted on the big screen with Sunny Deol’s “Singh Sahib The Great”, has now taken a bold step away from mainstream cinema. She described the track as an artistic expression that marries her love for Indian culture with the global language of electronic music.

Produced alongside veteran composers from Oriental House and Hollywood’s top production houses, the track features a blend of western basslines and Indian melodic phrasing. In an interview, the actress‑singer said, “This record is more than a song; it is a narrative about controlling one’s heart, a concept deeply rooted in my name.”

Fans and critics alike have praised the effort for its originality, noting that it could serve as a template for future cross‑cultural collaborations in the Indian music industry.
