Heart Attack Mockery on Bigg Boss 20 Sparks Outrage
Mumbai, October 22: A heated clash on Bigg Boss 20 has led to a serious debate about the limits of reality television. Actor Asif Khan's wife has now spoken publicly about her husband's health, after a dispute with co-contestant Kazi Tauqeer escalated into a claim that he mimicked a heart attack.
The dispute began during a recent episode, when Kazi performed his well-known dance step. Asif called the performance boring and asked him to behave like a monkey. The exchange quickly grew louder, and the situation became more serious when Kazi allegedly imitated a heart attack, deeply hurting Asif.
In a social media post on Thursday, Asif's wife revealed that he had indeed suffered a heart attack, at only 34 years old. She said it was distressing that the family now had to share his medical reports publicly to establish the truth. She wrote that she had never imagined such a private matter would need to be made public to convince others.
She explained that Asif's earlier statement that he had GERD rather than a heart attack came from fear. He was concerned that revealing a serious health issue could affect his career in an industry where work is never guaranteed, especially for artists without strong backing.
Her account of the hospital stay was emotional. Doctors had found that his main coronary artery was completely blocked, and the family went through a difficult period involving ICU care and a stent procedure. She recalled holding her husband as he cried, frightened of losing the life and future he had worked for.
She also noted that Asif had lost his father to a heart attack during childhood. Having faced a similar scare, he was haunted by old pain and the fear of leaving his family behind.
The wife said that the criticism had turned into harassment. She reported receiving foul language, death threats against Asif, and threats of sexual violence against women in the family. She stressed that no justification could excuse such conduct.
Bigg Boss, she acknowledged, is an entertainment-based reality show. Yet she asked when entertainment became a pretext for cruelty, and when conflicts began to put lives at risk or target families.
