Haiku Actress Sridevi Apalla Reveals Character Stayed With Her
Actress Sridevi Apalla, known for her acclaimed performance in the Telugu film 'Court: State vs A Nobody', has made her debut in Tamil cinema with 'Haiku'. The actress is currently discussing the film and the impact its character has had on her personal journey as an artist.
According to Sridevi, the character she portrays in 'Haiku' remained with her even after the shoot ended. She added that completing the dubbing did not help her fully separate from the role.
She said that when director Yuvaraj Chinnasamy narrated the story, she sensed right away that the character was layered with complex emotions. On several occasions during filming, she continued to feel a part of that character after the camera had stopped.
The actress described a lingering feeling, as though a fragment of the character had settled within her. She said she still carries those emotions and that her association with 'Haiku' will always hold a special place in her heart.
Sridevi also thanked the producer and director for their faith in her abilities. She appreciated her co-star Egan as well, calling the experience of working with him excellent.
She observed that certain roles come to an end once the work is over, while others are impossible to fully express in words and stay with performers for a long time. She believes the character in 'Haiku' belongs to the latter group.
Written and directed by Yuvaraj Chinnasamy, 'Haiku' features Egan, Sridevi Apalla and Femina George in the lead roles. The supporting cast includes Adirchi Arun, Subramaniya Setu, Adhiyaman, Mime Gopi and Indumathi Manigandan.
Produced under the Vision Cinema House banner by Dr. D. Arulanandhu and Mathew Arulanandhu, the film has music by Siddhu Kumar and cinematography by Preyesh Guru Samy.
