Govinda‑Sunita Marriage Turmoil Eases as Petition Is Pulled Back

After months of speculation and courtroom drama, the Govinda‑Sunita Ahuja marriage appears to have taken a calmer path. On Wednesday, Sunita Ahuja visited the Bandra Family Court to formally rescind the divorce petition she filed in December 2024. Court clerks confirmed the withdrawal, and Govinda’s manager, Shashi Sinha, later corroborated the news in a brief statement to the press.

The actress arrived with her son Yashwardhan, who seemed uncomfortable when approached by photographers. He asked the media to step aside, and when later questioned about the proceedings, he answered in a low voice, "nothing," while his mother deflected with a light‑hearted remark about celebrating a birthday.

The petition had been grounded on allegations of cruelty, infidelity and abandonment, accusations that surfaced after Govinda was photographed at an airport with his film co‑star Komal Rani Swarankar. Sunita publicly labeled the actress a "sugar daddy" and criticized her attire, though Govinda insisted the bond was purely professional.

The couple, married since 1987, share two children. Their daughter Tina, also known as Narmada, made her Bollywood debut with "Second Hand Husband" in 2015, and their son Yashwardhan is reportedly preparing for an entry into acting. While the legal case is now closed, relationship experts caution that underlying issues may still need resolution before the pair can fully move past the recent controversies.
