Goa police close unnatural death case of veteran actor Nana Patkar

Goa police have announced the closure of the unnatural‑death investigation into veteran actor Nana Patkar after a definitive post‑mortem report cleared the case. The final examination by the Goa Medical College team cited a massive heart attack stemming from coronary artery disease as the cause of death, and labeled it natural.

Law enforcement officials confirmed that the report has been shared with Patkar’s family, who have not objected. Consequently, the case that was opened under the suspicion of foul play will be formally sealed.

According to police records, Patkar sent a late‑night message at about 2:30 a.m. to a close companion, indicating severe discomfort. The companion reached the actor’s residence at Donna Paola shortly after 3:30 a.m., finding him unresponsive on a couch. He was rushed to Manipal Hospital, where medical staff attempted resuscitation for 45 minutes before declaring death at 5:20 a.m.

After the autopsy, the body was transferred to the actor’s farm house in Donje, Pune, where a state‑backed funeral ceremony took place.
