Ghai Reflects on Mukta Arts' 48-Year Journey and Its Legacy
Mumbai, October 24: Subhash Ghai has been actively managing his film production house and education institute. On Saturday, he reflected on the decades-long journey of his company and recalled the support of producer Pravesh Sippy, producer N.N. Sippy, and his mentor Dilip Kumar.
In an Instagram post, Ghai shared a video celebrating the silver jubilee of Mukta Arts Limited. The clip includes N.N. Sippy, mentor Dilip Kumar, director Yash Chopra, and Sushil Kumar Shinde.
Ghai detailed how N.N. Sippy helped him learn the intricacies of production in 1975. He thanked Pravesh Sippy and recalled that N.N. Sippy had been the first producer of Kaalicharan, his debut film as a director. He wrote that in 1978, Mukta Film Productions was formed, and the banner later delivered a series of successful films, including Karz, Hero, Karma, Meri Jung, Ram Lakhan, Saudagar, Khalnayak, Pardes, Taal, Yaadein, Yuvraj, Black and White, Aitraaz, and Iqbal.
He noted that Mukta Arts Limited is now celebrating its 48th anniversary. According to Ghai, the company continues to pursue excellence in content and business, working alongside Whistling Woods International and Mukta A2 Cinemas. He also said the company is launching various content formats with SGM Animation Studios and new talent.
Ghai extended his thanks to everyone who has supported Mukta Arts Limited over the years.
Ghai's rise as a filmmaker began with rejection. While he was an emerging director whose scripts were turned down by many, Pravesh Sippy admired his directorial approach and suggested his name to his father, N.N. Sippy. That faith resulted in Kaalicharan in 1976, the film that gave Ghai his first major blockbuster as a director.
