Generational Conflict Central to ‘Max, Min and Myausaki’, Actor Reveals

Mumbai, July 22 – In discussing his forthcoming film Max, Min and Myausaki, Adil Hussain described his character as a disciplined father who believes that life should be governed by strict rules and responsibilities. He maintains that adhering to these principles is non‑negotiable, both for himself and his family.

According to Hussain, the narrative draws its tension from the stark difference between his character’s generation and that of his son. The older generation, he said, traditionally focused on securing respectable employment, contributing to society, honoring parents, and meeting financial duties. The younger generation, meanwhile, tends to question these priorities and explore alternative life paths.

The father’s biggest flaw, as Hussain notes, is his inability to view situations through another’s eyes, making him emotionally rigid. Throughout the film, however, circumstances force him to listen and empathise, gradually softening his demeanor and revealing a more compassionate side.

Hussain believes this shift is what makes the role compelling. The film is not merely a father‑son drama; it mirrors the broader societal conversation about balancing discipline with empathy. It suggests that while structure is essential, listening to different perspectives is equally crucial.

Max, Min and Myausaki will arrive in cinemas on July 24.
