Actress Gauahar Khan, a former winner of Bigg Boss, has publicly condemned fellow contestant Tanya Mittal for her relentless body-shaming of Ashnoor Kaur on Bigg Boss 19. Khan expressed her strong disapproval via social media, stating that while she initially found Mittal’s dramatic persona entertaining, her constant derogatory comments about Ashnoor’s appearance are ‘absolutely disgusting.’
Mittal has been repeatedly heard making disparaging remarks about Ashnoor’s weight, including calling her an ‘elephant’ during tasks and questioning her appearance, suggesting she doesn’t look her age and appears ‘chubby.’ Khan highlighted a specific incident where Mittal made a sarcastic comment about Ashnoor’s outfit, implying she looked like a ‘Barbie’ in a way that was clearly intended to be insulting. Khan emphasized that judging individuals by their looks and gossiping negatively behind their backs is unacceptable.
Khan further elaborated that true beauty stems from inner qualities, not just outward appearance or perceived flaws. She asserted, ‘If you think you are beautiful by putting others down, then you are not beautiful at all, because it’s important to be more beautiful from within the heart and the soul than just the face.’ She concluded by stressing that regardless of attire or external factors, a negative mindset negates any claim to beauty.
The controversy escalated when Mittal, during a task, referred to Ashnoor as an elephant. Additionally, in a recent live feed, Mittal and another contestant, Neelam Giri, were overheard discussing Ashnoor’s weight gain. They expressed surprise that Ashnoor was gaining weight despite consistently going to the gym. Their conversation extended to Ashnoor’s attire during a ‘Weekend Ka Vaar’ episode, with both agreeing the dress didn’t suit her body type. Viewers also noted their comments that the same dress would have looked better on Mittal or Giri.
This behavior has ignited significant backlash from fans on social media, who are calling out Mittal and Giri for their insensitive remarks and crossing boundaries in their body-shaming of the 21-year-old Ashnoor Kaur.
