How Mantra Datt Transitioned from Film Roles to Business Leadership

Mantra Datt, originally named Dilnavaz Sheikh, entered the Bollywood ecosystem under the alias Sara Khan after a brief stint in Dubai during her childhood. Her early filmography consisted of minor parts that failed to generate a lasting impression. The watershed moment arrived when she featured in the 2003 movie Gangajal, performing the popular number “Alhad Mast Jawani.” The success of that song earned her the screen name Mantra Datt and a brief surge of public interest. Still, sizable offers remained elusive, and she turned to smaller projects, including the indie film Lovers Like Us. While negotiating its distribution rights, she met actor Sanjay Dutt. Their connection deepened, culminating in a marriage on February 7, 2008. Following the union, Mantra chose to step back from acting, focusing instead on raising their twins, Shahraan and Ikra, born in 2010. Over time, she shifted her professional focus to the corporate side of entertainment, assuming the role of chief executive officer at Sanjay Dutt Productions.
