Father’s Dream Lives On: Virk Fadnis Dedicates Upcoming Film to Parents

Celebrating the first anniversary of his father's demise, director‑designer Virk Fadnis released an emotional statement that blends grief with gratitude. He remembered how his father fell ill, was admitted, and never returned home, leaving a void that persists despite a year of awards and projects.

The central theme of his message is his father's sole desire – to watch his son produce a Hindi language movie. "He trusted that dream even when I didn’t know the path to achieve it," Fadnis wrote.

With the world premiere of his next venture, "Pal Bhar Ke Liye," scheduled at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2026, the filmmaker says the film is a homage to both his parents. He credits his mother for being his rock through sleepless nights, while insisting that each scene carries his father's invisible presence.

"This film is for my mother, but this moment is for my father," he added. "I love you, Daddy, more than words can convey."

Fadnis' career includes costume design for several Bollywood hits and directing Marathi debut "Hridayantar" in 2017, followed by the 2019 feature "Smile Please."
