Behind the Scenes: Erica Fernandes Prepares for Doctor Role in Upcoming Drama

Actress Erica Fernandes, widely recognized for her performances in “Kasauti Zindagii Kay” and “Kuch Rang Pyar Ke”, has stepped onto the set of “108 Base Hospital – Uri” as Dr. Major Naina. The role required her to adopt a disciplined, authoritative demeanor common to senior medical officers.

Fernandes disclosed that she approached the role with systematic research. She watched several medical series, consulted video archives, and observed how doctors interact with patients and colleagues in high‑stress environments. This month‑long study helped her internalise not only technical aspects but also the empathy and confidence expected of a doctor.

Her on‑set routine involved full immersion; however, she emphasized that detaching from the character is effortless once shooting stops. “The camera’s shutter signals the end of the performance, and I instantly revert to my personal life,” she said. She added that no particular scene caused lingering attachment, as the medical cases presented were engaging yet distinct from everyday experiences.

The drama, which debuted on Independence Day, brings together a cast that includes Gashmeer Mahajani, Nikhil Khurana, Ayoshi Talukdar, Heetendra Tejwani and Smita Bansal. It is telecast every weekend on Colors and Jio Star, offering viewers a blend of military backdrop and medical intrigue.
