Dutt Emphasises No Intent to Offend Communities; Performance Was Comedic
Sanjay Dutt, appearing on the anniversary of Gandhi Jayanti, appeared on Shekhar Suman’s “Shekhar Tonight” and later posted a clarification video. He reiterated that his comments about India’s current climate were delivered in a scripted, humorous fashion, comparable to the playful banter seen in his famous “Munna Bhai” movies.
The actor said the segment aimed to spread love, togetherness, and goodwill, not to create division. He clarified that his reference to “Gandhigiri” was metaphorical, meant to encourage harmony among citizens. Dutt also praised the Indian people for their generosity and hospitality, urging the country to regain the peace it once enjoyed.
Concluding the message, Dutt appealed to Lord Shiva for the swift return of calm and normalcy across the nation, assuring fans that his words were never meant to cause hurt.
