Dilwaali Diwali: Family Drama Coming to Netflix Soon
Mumbai, October 26: A new family drama is making its way to screens this festive season. 'Dilwaali Diwali', starring Mihir Ahuja, will release on Netflix, and the makers confirmed the date on Monday.
Alongside a poster posted on Instagram, the makers wrote, “This is your sign to plan a Diwali date with your Dilwaali family. 'Dilwaali Diwali' releases on November 5, only on Netflix.”
The film examines generational gaps, family expectations and the meaning of home. It blends humour with emotionally resonant moments, offering a story that is both light-hearted and reflective.
Ritesh Menon has directed the film, and the story is written by Ritu Mago. The production has received support from Terribly Tiny Tales (TTT). Apart from Mihir Ahuja, the cast includes Manoj Pahwa, Neelu Kohli and Aura Bhatnagar.
Mihir Ahuja is playing Ansh Sikka in the film. He said, “Ansh's journey starts with love, and I think that is what makes this story so relatable. We all want to do the best for our families, but sometimes we try so hard to give them more that we forget to understand what truly makes them happy. TTT has shown these details beautifully, with humour and heart. I am excited that audiences will watch the film on Netflix this Diwali and see a glimpse of their own families in the Sikka family.”
Manoj Pahwa, who plays Ansh's father, shared his perspective. “For parents, home is never about walls, furniture or an address. It is about the memories created with the people inside it. Children may see a good life differently, but the love behind both views is the same. TTT and Netflix have shown generational bonding with real sensitivity in 'Dilwaali Diwali'. I hope audiences enjoy this story with their families on Netflix this Diwali and find their own meaning of home in it.”
