Diljit Dosanjh Concert Night: Extra Metro Trains and Traffic Curbs
Fans heading to Diljit Dosanjh's 'Aura India Tour 2026' concert on October 30 will have extended metro access, while road users in south-central Delhi face traffic restrictions. The concert takes place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, where more than 70,000 people are expected.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has decided to keep train services running until midnight on Friday. Its Principal Executive Director (Corporate Communication) announced the plan in a statement on Thursday.
All metro lines, except the Airport Express Line, will operate beyond regular hours. The Gurugram Rapid Metro is also excluded from the extended schedule.
After the concert ends, extra trains will run across the network to clear the crowd in a steady and orderly manner. Standby trains have also been kept ready in case passenger numbers spike unexpectedly.
QR ticket sales through the Delhi Metro Sarathi app will remain open for an additional hour to accommodate the revised timings.
JLN Stadium metro station and other important interchange stations will have extra DMRC staff, customer service personnel and Customer Facilitation Agents to guide visitors. Additional security personnel will also be deployed at JLN Stadium station.
Door Frame Metal Detectors will be installed at the station to tighten security checks while maintaining orderly passenger movement.
JLN Stadium station on the Violet Line, part of the Kashmere Gate to Raja Nahar Singh corridor, is the nearest metro station to the venue. DMRC has advised concertgoers to travel by metro, which it says is convenient, safe, eco-friendly and helps reduce private vehicle use.
Delhi Traffic Police had already released route diversion details for vehicles on Wednesday, advising commuters to use public transport, particularly the Delhi Metro.
In a post on X, the traffic police said restrictions and route diversions may apply from 1:00 PM to 12:00 midnight on 30.10.2026, as Diljit Dosanjh performs live at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Commuters have been urged to plan their journeys in advance, avoid the affected routes around JLN Stadium, and use public transport, with the Delhi Metro recommended.
