Ranbir Kapoor is set to make a splash in 2026 with two major films slated for release: ‘Love and War’ and ‘Ramayana Part 1.’ While work on one film is complete and the other is still in progress, speculation surrounding ‘Dhoom 4’ continues to link Ranbir Kapoor to the project. He has reportedly been finalized for the film. However, the identity of his opponent remains uncertain. While there were initial reports of Vicky Kaushal playing the villain, the focus has now shifted to a South Indian actor.
After the setbacks faced by ‘War 2,’ Yash Raj Films is concentrating on its upcoming projects. Discussions are underway regarding who will star opposite Ranbir Kapoor in ‘Dhoom 4.’ This has led the filmmakers to look towards the Telugu film industry, with plans to cast a prominent actor as the villain, someone with a strong connection to Jr. NTR.
Who Will Face Ranbir in ‘Dhoom 4’?
YRF is employing various strategies to strengthen its foothold in the South. Their initial move to cast Jr. NTR for ‘War 2’ appears to have failed. According to a report in Deccan Chronicle, there’s a possibility of Ram Charan joining ‘Dhoom 4.’ Ram Charan gained immense popularity and earned 1200 crore with RRR, in which he co-starred with Jr. NTR. The two are good friends, often supporting each other. However, the film that followed RRR wasn’t successful.
As soon as news of Ram Charan’s potential involvement surfaced on social media, fans expressed their disapproval, believing he shouldn’t take the role. Some felt that Jr. NTR was not portrayed well in ‘War 2,’ while others felt it was due to shortcomings in his acting. Besides Ram Charan, fans are also suggesting Vijay Deverakonda as a potential villain, though no official announcement has been made yet.
In a recent post, Aakashavaani shared information about YRF approaching another Telugu hero for a key role in ‘Dhoom 4,’ alongside Ranbir Kapoor. However, the hero has reportedly not responded positively. Ayan Mukerji is expected to direct the film. The risk lies in the fact that Ayan’s direction in ‘War 2’ wasn’t well-received, making it a gamble to entrust him with such a significant responsibility.
