The Tamil cinema world witnessed a touching display of friendship at the audio launch of ‘Youth’, Ken Karunas’ directorial debut. Music maestro GV Prakash stepped up by offering his compositional services gratis, a move that earned effusive accolades from Dhanush.
Taking the stage, Dhanush lauded, ‘Not everyone possesses the generosity to forgo fees for a friend’s dream project. You’ve elevated friendship from rhetoric to reality. Composing for ‘Youth’ without charge exemplifies your magnanimous spirit. Kudos to you!’
Drawing parallels, he added, ‘You’re the defining voice of ‘Youth’, akin to Yuvan Shankar Raja’s iconic role in ‘Thulluvadho Ilamai’. Ken and team owe you their gratitude.’
Ken recounted the pivotal moment: ‘When big music directors were skeptical, GV Prakash listened to my script and committed without hesitation or fee. His faith in me was transformative.’
Set against a film school backdrop, ‘Youth’ explores youth’s passions, bonds, and struggles. Ken leads the cast alongside Anishma Anil Kumar, Meenakshi Dinesh, Priyanshi Yadav, Suraj Venjaramoodu, and Devadarshini in key roles.
Behind the scenes, Vicky handled cinematography, Nash editing, Ramu Thangaraj art direction, and Dhanush’s favored designer Kavya Sriram managed costumes.
Backed by producers Karupaiya C Ram, Kali Rajkumar, and Sulochana Kumar of Parvata Entertainment and Street Boy Studio, the film is poised to resonate with the younger audience.
Prakash’s gesture reaffirms that in an industry often driven by commerce, true alliances can propel creative visions forward.
