Details of the 4 December 2024 Sandhya Theatre Crush and Legal Aftermath

On 4 December 2024, a massive crowd gathered inside Hyderabad’s Sandhya Theatre for the premiere of “Pushpa 2: The Rule”. A sudden surge turned the venue into a stampede, resulting in the death of Ms. M. Revathy and serious injuries to her son.

The tragedy sparked statewide outrage over security lapses. Police investigations later named 23 suspects, including the theatre’s top‑level managers, ten members of the management team, and eight security personnel.

Allu Arjun was arrested on 13 December, presented before Namampally Court, and later released on interim bail. He was subsequently interrogated for three hours on 24 December, with the police relying on CCTV footage and a self‑prepared video reconstruction.
