Vaani Kapoor’s birth on 23 August 1988 in Delhi placed her in a Punjabi family where business and education were valued. Her father Shiv Kapoor dealt in furniture exports, while her mother Dimple Kapoor split her career between marketing and teaching. After finishing school, she enrolled at IGNOU to study tourism. While studying, she interned at a Jaipur hotel and later worked briefly in another establishment, where a modeling scout approached her impressed by her stature and personality. The ensuing contract launched her modeling career, leading to runway shows for renowned designers and several advertising assignments. The modeling exposure caught the attention of Yash Raj Films, which offered her a debut role in *Shuddh Desi Romance* (2013).
