Debut film 'Batawara 1947' brings Kanika Kapoor closer to Bollywood dreams

Kanika Kapoor is currently riding a wave of excitement as she promotes her first feature, "Batawara 1947", a period drama set against the backdrop of India's 1947 Partition. Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, the movie follows ordinary lives torn apart by historic events.

Alongside co‑stars Karan Deol, Ali Fazal, Shabana Azmi and Abhimanyu Singh, Kanika said the project feels like a dream realized. "Every day on set felt like a page from my own wish list coming true," she explained. "From the detailed costumes to the intense rehearsals, I have learned a lot about my craft and the responsibilities of storytelling."

She emphasized that the film's powerful narrative and ensemble cast have given her a solid foothold in the industry.
