From Dance India Dance to Film Set: Raghav Juyal’s Evolution

Raghav Juyal’s journey from a contestant on Dance India Dance to a leading actor in Bollywood comedies is marked by relentless reinvention. Actress Nikki Walia, who shares the screen with him in "Bhai Tera Star Hai," praised his dynamic growth during a recent press briefing.

Walia explained that she first noticed Juyal’s talent during his televised dance stint, where his unconventional moves grabbed audience attention. Over the years, he transitioned into anchoring and then acting, each phase adding a new layer to his skill set.

"What stands out is his constant evolution," Walia said. "On set, he brings the same energy that made him a dance sensation, but now it’s blended with impeccable comic timing and expressive acting."

She recounted watching his web series "Bads of Bollywood," which convinced her that Juyal was the standout performer across the episodes. After meeting him, she was invited to join the film as Mindi, a confident Punjabi expatriate.

Juyal’s collaborative nature, according to Walia, makes him easy to work with. A mutual friend, Geeta Ma, served as the bridge that sparked their friendship, ensuring seamless chemistry during shooting.

Post‑production gatherings often involve the duo sharing meals, discussing future projects and simply enjoying each other’s company. "He’s genuinely kind‑hearted," Walia added, likening his sincerity to the character Mowgli, a rarity in today’s fast‑moving industry.

The film, directed by Vivek B. Aggarwal, also features Sanjay Kapoor, Barkha Singh, Niharika NM and Chandan Roy Sanyal. Written by Sudipto Sarkar and Aggarwal, and produced by Avanti Hari, Sunil Rupani and Aggarwal, the movie will hit theatres on July 30.
