Daler Mehndi Row: Mika Singh Calls Minister's Remarks Unfair

Mumbai, October 24: The row between Daler Mehndi and Uttarakhand Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal during the Kunjapuri Mela in New Tehri has drawn a strong reaction from singer Mika Singh. Speaking at a media interaction and press conference, Mika said the minister's conduct toward the singer was unacceptable and that the matter should be acknowledged.

Mika stated that the minister was entirely at fault. He also thanked the Bollywood industry, the Punjabi community, and Daler Mehndi's fans for offering support during the controversy.

“The people who watched the video will understand why I felt so hurt. The way he spoke to Daler bhai is not how anybody speaks to even young children in a school or college today. I feel that during my own struggling days, nobody spoke to me in such a manner,” Mika said.

Reflecting on the incident, Mika also shared a childhood experience. He said that as a boy, he had eaten at a wedding before the guests had arrived and had been scolded badly for it.

Defending Daler Mehndi, Mika targeted the minister's allegation that the singer was drunk on stage and could not stand. He argued that these claims were incorrect and had hurt Daler Mehndi's image.

Mika added that Sunanda Sharma had been scheduled to perform at the show but withdrew a day earlier, citing possible illness or personal reasons. He said Daler Mehndi, despite being unwell, performed live for 90 minutes without any pre-recorded songs to help a friend.

The exchange has continued to generate discussion across the entertainment industry and among fans.
