Big B Accuses Media of Distorting His Words, Issues Warning
Mumbai, November 2: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has reacted angrily to a recent media story, alleging that his words were presented in a misleading context. Through a new post on X, he accused the media of using his statements for promotional purposes and gave a clear warning to the press.
The row began after Amitabh shared a post and a blog connected to a traditional line often linked with Lord Krishna, “Haathi Ghoda Palki, Jai Kanhaiya Lal Ki.” According to the actor, the media has manipulated these words to fit its own agenda.
He also referred to the headline of the relevant media report in his post. Amitabh said he frequently utters “Haathi Ghoda Palki, Jai Kanhaiya Lal Ki” as a prayer for Krishna Kanhaiya, and that the media had reported it incorrectly.
Amitabh stated that his post was genuinely a prayer for Lord Krishna. He asserted that his words had nothing to do with any political remark, nor did they mock any opponent. He said that publishing such a headline was a religious mistake and an act of disrespect toward faith.
He wrote, “The media disrespects it and prints it to promote itself, saying, ‘Look, Amitabh is challenging his rivals, bring on the elephants and horses, we will fight with our weapons and will not be afraid!’ This is a strong condemnation in the name of ‘Jai Shri Krishna,’ and it also turns words around to suggest a challenge to rivals.”
Voicing his frustration, the veteran actor also sent a stern message to the media. He pointed out that he has 5 crore followers and said that if he gave the signal, even 10 percent of them would rally behind him.
Through his post, the megastar also remarked that when a public figure errs, they apologise, but when the media makes a mistake, no apology follows.
He criticised this sharply, writing, “When we make a mistake, mistakes happen, and we quickly ask for forgiveness and try to improve. But here, it seems the media considers this its birthright.”
Before this, Amitabh had posted another message on the subject, saying, “(We) write a prayer and the media misuses its words and disrespects them. Such helplessness??? Now the media is in our hands too. Think carefully! It will be costly.”
