Behind ‘The Traitors’: Farooqui’s Approach to Gameplay

Munawwar Farooqui, one of the 21 contestants on the latest season of the reality series “The Traitors,” spoke to IANS about his method of playing the game. The show pits participants from entertainment, television, social media, food and other fields against each other in a battle of trust, betrayal and strategic alliances. Farooqui said he designs his moves with care but refuses to use manipulation that harms others. Instead, he views each interaction as a mutual transaction, where the counterpart receives a share of the gain. “Think of me as an agent,” he explained. “If I steer a player, the other side receives a 20 % benefit, not a zero‑sum outcome.” He concluded that his goal is to survive eliminations while uncovering hidden Traitors, without compromising anyone’s well‑being.
