Shweta Tripathi has opened up about a surprising overlap between her own lifestyle and the fictional Golu Gupta she will portray in Mirzapur: The Film. The actress claims that both she and Golu share an intense passion for reading, which eliminated the need for any extra preparation for the book‑centric scenes. "I’ve been a reader for many years; I walk into a store to glance at books and end up purchasing three or more," Tripathi said, explaining how literature has rewired her thinking patterns and broadened her empathy. She highlighted that the habit of reading lets an individual observe varied human experiences without physically stepping into those lives, a critical tool for actors aiming to understand a character’s choices. Tripathi further stated that books have saved her from forming hasty judgments, enabling her to feel others’ emotions more deeply and continuously spark curiosity. While Golu and Tripathi both question reality and avoid uncritical acceptance, Golu’s calm disposition contrasts with Tripathi’s preference for open dialogue and emotional expression.
