“Ishqnama” draws its plot from the genuine love saga of Nimmal, a 72‑year‑old who waited roughly forty years for his partner, Nasima, against the backdrop of the India‑Pakistan border between 1981 and 1988. Director Aravinder S. Khaira described the story as a rare instance where reality outshines fiction, and he feels honored to bring it to the silver screen. Produced by Saurabh Rana and Ravneet Kaur Chahal, the film also adapts material from the book “Hind‑Pak Bordernama.” The ensemble includes Shehnaz Gill, Saurabh Sachdeva, and several other actors, with music composed by B Praak and lyrics penned by Jaani.
