Award-winning playback singer shares behind‑the‑scenes of his Marathi hit

In the wake of his Best Male Playback Singer win at the 72nd National Film Awards, Abhay Jodhpurkar opened up about the making of “Navsachi Gauri Majhi”. The track, featured in “Gharat Ganpati”, required two distinct recording sessions. The initial take pushed his vocal scale beyond comfort, and the already‑dubbed instrumental tracks prevented any key adjustment. Unsatisfied, he opted for a fresh session, allowing his voice to flow with the song’s celebratory mood. He emphasized that the focus shifted from hitting perfect notes to delivering genuine emotion. Receiving the trophy from President Droupadi Murmu was a moment he describes as both moving and surreal. The ceremony also celebrated “Article 370”, Yami Gautam, Mammootty’s performance in “Brahmayugam”, and Kartik Aaryan’s role in “Chandu Champion”.
