Arjun Das Set as Chandru in Madhumita's Film John Doe
Chennai, October 22: Arjun Das, one of the rising names in Tamil cinema, will appear as Chandru in director Madhumita's forthcoming psychological thriller, John Doe. The filmmakers confirmed the casting on Thursday.
In a post on his social media account, Arjun Das shared the film's first-look poster and wrote, “‘Naan Podhuma? (Am I enough?)’ It is a question that continually unsettles Chandru. Perhaps it is one that all of us have asked ourselves. In Chandru's search, I found a part of myself. Meet Chandru from the world of John Doe. The film arrives in November at a cinema near you.”
The film's writing and direction are both by Madhumita. Arka Media Works is the production company, and the film is being presented by AGS Cinemas.
Sanchana Natarajan has been cast as the lead actress. The film also features Shrushti, Jaara Vineet Chandhoke and Nirav in significant roles.
Interest in the film is growing for several reasons. Notably, this marks Arjun Das's first time playing a police officer in his career.
Arka Media Works, the film's production house, earlier made the pan-India blockbuster Baahubali.
Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni are producing the film. Kishore Kedari and Madhumita are co-producers, while Soumya Sharma is the creative producer.
The technical department is also considered a major strength. Renowned composer Mujeeb Majeed has created the score, and The Artist 404 has contributed additional music.
The story and screenplay have been developed by Madhumita and Nicolas Chevalier. Pritha Jayaraman handles cinematography, and Vijay Venkataramanan is responsible for editing.
Dinesh Subbarayan and Action Santhosh have created the action sequences. Priya Karan and Priya Harry designed the costumes, and Ashwini Kale has overseen production design.
According to sources, the film is nearly complete and the makers plan to release it in November of this year.
