Apna Family Bond: Cast of Iconic TV Drama Meets Again Before Season‑2 Finale
The iconic ensemble of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi reunited at Rewa Babbar’s home, offering fans a glimpse of the beloved ‘family’ bond that defined the show. Actress Aparna Mehta posted a series of pictures on Instagram, showcasing Smriti Irani, Gauri Pradhan, Ritu Chauhan, Kamalika Guhathakurta, Rakshanda Khan, Hiten Tejwani, Sumit Sachdev and several other original cast members sharing a relaxed evening together.
Aparna described the night as filled with hearty laughter, sumptuous food and an abundance of cherished memories, coinciding with the climax of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2. Smriti Irani, forever remembered as Tulsi Virani, posed with her former co‑stars, including Gauri Pradhan (who played Nandini) and Hiten Tejwani. Aparna, who played Savita Virani in the first run, was also present.
The series originally launched on Star Plus on 3 July 2000 under the banner of Balaji Telefilms, produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor. Smriti Irani and Amar Upadhyay (later Ronit Roy) led the narrative, with Tulsi’s character becoming an emblem of Indian television. The plot centered on the Gujarati Virani family, focusing on the challenges faced by an exemplary daughter‑in‑law.
Following its massive popularity, a second season was revived in 2025 with many of the original artists returning. The new season is now in its final leg, with the ultimate episode earmarked for 20 October.
