Anupama’s New Mother Figure: Samiksha Bhatnagar Talks About Her Character

Mumbai, August 24 – In an exclusive interview, Samiksha Bhatnagar shared insights into her portrayal of Shruiti Ahuja, the newest mother figure on Anupama.

The actress emphasized that the appeal of the role lay in its layered nature rather than the show’s high profile. “I assess every offer based on what new artistic challenge it presents, not on the project’s scale or its collaborators,” she said.

She acknowledged Anupama’s strong viewership as a factor that added weight to her decision. By the time she was approached, the serial had already built a loyal fan base with deep emotional connections.

Regarding Shruiti Ahuja, Samiksha remarked, “There is a particular fortitude in Shruiti that intrigued me. When I connected with that inner strength, I felt the role was a perfect fit for my sensibilities.” She also noted the audience’s warm reception of the character.

The portrayal required her to embody a mother’s resolve to validate herself before her daughter, a task Samiksha described as demanding yet rewarding. She made it clear that depicting Shruiti’s love and decisions required a balanced, empathetic approach.

Samiksha joined the cast in April 2026, succeeding Sukriti Khandpal. The series, produced by Rajan Shahi, is aired on Star Plus and stars Rupali Ganguli in the lead role.
