Angad Bedi Honours Late Father Bishan Bedi with Heartfelt Post
Mumbai, October 23: Actor Angad Bedi remembered his late father, former Indian cricket great Bishan Singh Bedi, on the third anniversary of his death with a deeply personal post on social media.
In the post, Angad spoke about the bond he shared with his father, recalling how he used to run alongside him when he was a child. This year, he marked the day by going for a run in his father's memory.
Angad shared a few videos from his Instagram account. In them, Bishan Bedi is seen seated, telling a story, while his son listens and records the moment, preserving a memory that now holds special meaning.
The actor also shared a more intimate detail. On his last visit home, he had quietly taken his father's favourite cologne from the drawer. On the anniversary, he chose to wear it.
“Not sure how to put this, but I have to tell you something. The last time I was home, I took your favourite cologne from your drawer. I'm wearing it today,” he wrote.
He further reflected on his father's words, “Bhagte-bhagte jagte rehna aur jagte-jagte bhagte rehna,” which he described as a guiding principle. He said that his run on this day was a tribute to those lessons and to the childhood memories of running with his father at just six years old.
Bishan Singh Bedi was one of India's greatest left-arm spinners. He elevated Indian cricket during the 1960s and 1970s and was widely respected for his colourful turban and his straightforward views on the sport.
He was a central figure in the iconic Indian spin quartet alongside Prasanna, Chandrasekhar and Venkataraghavan. His flight and precise control troubled many top batsmen.
Bishan Singh Bedi passed away in 2023 due to age-related ailments.
