Director Amit Rai Promises Laughter and Tears in Upcoming Family Film
During a star‑studded event in Mumbai, director Amit Rai unveiled the creative vision behind “Oh My Dog,” his latest collaboration with actor Pankaj Tripathi. Rai described the project as a celebration of the purest friendships—those between children and dogs—stating that these bonds are among the world’s simplest yet most endearing relationships.
“The goal is to craft a story that every household can see themselves in,” Rai said. “We want to make people laugh, but also touch their hearts, encouraging a deeper love for animals.”
The plot follows a small boy who discovers a stray dog, leading to a series of adventures that reshape his family’s dynamics. Tripathi highlighted the thematic core: a pet’s unconditional devotion can alter a person’s life in profound ways.
The production boasts a large canine ensemble, with Oscar, Bruno, and over 250 other dogs playing essential roles. Supporting cast members include Mahhi Rai, Geeta Agrawal Sharma, Rajesh Kumar, Pawan Malhotra, and Vijay Mishra. Backed by producers Amit Rai, Rajesh Bhardwaj, and Sana Warshi, the film will be released under Babulal Bioscope and Thinking Hats Entertainment on July 31.
