Amazon Prime Video Releases Jagmay Sangitam on Sept 4

The much‑anticipated Telugu web series "Jagmay Sangitam" will debut on Amazon Prime Video on September 4, featuring veteran actor Prakash Raj as the iconic classical musician Ustad Shastri. The series marries the rich heritage of Karnataka’s Carnatic music with a modern auditory landscape, delivering a story rooted in tradition yet resonant with today’s audiences.

Set in the spiritually charged city of Vekundapuram, the narrative explores the intertwined lives of a family whose musical lineage has been concealed for decades. Raj’s portrayal of the devoted Ustad forms the emotional backbone, guiding viewers through a tapestry of hidden legacies, familial duties and the pursuit of artistic truth.

Prime Video India’s SVOD Originals head, Nikhil Madhok, described "Jagmay Sangitam" as a compelling exploration of music’s emotional depth coupled with universal themes of heritage, ambition and self‑determination. The series benefits from the creative direction of Palnati Suryapratap, the production vigor of Susmita Konidela, and a stirring soundtrack by Vishwa Chandra Shekhar that aims to bridge cultural gaps.

Producer Susmita Konidela noted that the series aspires to make music an expressive language capable of articulating feelings that words often cannot—such as love, confrontation, yearning, pride, optimism and eventual healing.

The ensemble cast includes Mecca Shrikant, Madhubala, Akshay Lagusani, Susmita Shetty and a wide array of supporting actors like Suman, Sijju Menon, Shafi, Jhansee, Ragu Babu Yera, Rocket Raghav, Nagi Zorust, Mirchi Kiran, Keshav Deepak, Priyanka Nalkari, Manik Reddy, Prachi Thakar and Rupa Lakshmi. "Jagmay Sangitam" will be streamed in Telugu with English subtitles and a Tamil dub, reaching more than 240 countries through Prime Video.
