Akshay Kumar is a well-known figure in the Bollywood industry. He has achieved a prominent position through hard work, a goal many aspire to. Before becoming an actor, Kumar held various jobs, including martial arts instructor and assistant to a photographer. In an interview, Kumar discussed his initial career journey and how he was encouraged to pursue acting. The actor revealed that it was fellow actor Govinda who recognized his potential and suggested he consider a career in acting. Kumar has always held Govinda in high regard and has also collaborated with him on screen.
During an appearance on ‘The Anupam Kher Show,’ Kumar shared details of his struggles and the person who inspired him to contemplate becoming a hero. The show included an interview with Kumar where he disclosed that Govinda had noticed him while he was working for a photographer. Govinda’s words, “You look good, why don’t you become a hero?” prompted Kumar to rethink his career path. Initially hesitant, Kumar eventually started seeking opportunities in the film industry, which ultimately led to his successful acting career.
Kumar’s debut in the film industry came in 1987 with a small role in Mahesh Bhatt’s film ‘Aaj.’ His first film as a lead actor was ‘Saugandh,’ released in 1991. Another film titled ‘Dancer’ was released the same year, but both were unsuccessful. However, in 1992, the film ‘Khiladi’ was released, becoming a major hit and giving Kumar the nickname ‘Khiladi.’ He has since starred in numerous hit, superhit, and blockbuster films. Today, Akshay Kumar is recognized as one of the highest-paid actors in Bollywood.
