During her recent visit to the Bigg Boss 19 house for Family Week, Akanksha Chamola, wife of contestant Gaurav Khanna, addressed her personal decision regarding having children. She candidly shared her perspective, stating that she views having kids as a ‘huge responsibility’ and is not currently inclined towards it.
While interacting with fellow housemates Malti Chahar and Pranit More, the topic of children arose after an astrologer’s visit. When Malti inquired about Akanksha’s future plans for a family, Akanksha clarified her stance. ‘So far, I haven’t felt that inclination,’ she explained, ‘and even in the future, it feels very difficult for me because, for some reason, it hasn’t come from within me. I don’t feel the need to have a kid.’
Akanksha elaborated on her feelings, suggesting that her numerous reasons indicate she’s not yet ready. ‘When you keep finding so many excuses, it means you are not ready,’ she remarked, ‘because someone who truly wants to do it doesn’t overthink like this.’
Addressing the possibility of fear, Akanksha firmly stated, ‘I am not scared of it.’ Instead, she emphasized the immense commitment involved. ‘Having a child is not like making a sweet; it’s a huge responsibility,’ she stated. ‘I don’t feel I can justify that role or duty properly. At any age, you have to give your 100%.’ She also highlighted her personal aspirations: ‘Yes, I want to build my career, I have many ambitions, and if people call that selfish, that’s their view.’
Gaurav Khanna later joined the conversation, quickly coming to his wife’s defense and stating she was not being ‘selfish.’ This discussion comes after Gaurav had previously confided in a fellow contestant about his desire to have children, noting that Akanksha was not yet ready.
