Mumbai, October 26

Singer and composer Adnan Sami has once again highlighted the importance he places on family life. On Monday, he shared a pleasant snapshot of a leisurely Sunday spent with family and friends.

The singer posted a brunch update on Instagram, revealing that the afternoon was centred on good food and warm conversation. He also praised his wife, Roya Sami Khan, for the range of freshly baked breads she prepared at home with care.

The post read, "The most beautiful feeling is starting Sunday morning with family-like friends and breaking bread together at brunch, with good food and lovely conversation! All the different breads were freshly baked at home with love by my dear wife, Roya Sami Khan Jaan!"

Roya is the third of Adnan Sami's four wives. She has Afghan-German roots and is the daughter of a retired army and diplomatic officer.

Adnan Sami has sung in a wide variety of languages, including Hindi, Urdu, English, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam, blending Indian and Western styles. He is celebrated as one of the fastest keyboard players in the world and as one of the first to play Indian classical music on the piano.

He is known to master 32 different instruments, with the piano being the one he is most associated with. Having started his musical training at a very young age, he developed a special expertise in piano playing. He is counted among the pioneering artists who played Indian classical music and santoor-inspired pieces on the piano.

After a long period of association with Pakistan and other nations, he chose to settle in India. He was officially granted Indian citizenship on January 1, 2016. On January 26, 2020, the Government of India conferred on him the Padma Shri, the country's fourth highest civilian honour, in recognition of his notable contributions to music.
