How a 9th‑Grade Boyfriend Became Tanishaa Pannu’s First Heartbreak
In the corridors of Jai Kaur Public School, Delhi, a young Tanishaa Pannu discovered love at the tender age of fourteen. Her boyfriend, a class‑10 student, shared whispered conversations and hopes of a future together. However, the pressure of the upcoming board examinations led him to end the romance, insisting that his studies demanded his full attention.
At a time when personal mobile devices were rare, Tanishaa would walk to the nearest public call‑out kiosk, insert two‑rupee coins and request a brief chat. He either ignored the call or responded harshly, leaving her in tears. She later referred to this as her "first major heartbreak" and promised herself never to be treated that way again.
She went on to earn a B.Tech in Computer Science from Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology, Delhi, before stepping into the world of modelling and South Indian cinema. Her debut came with the Telugu film "Jhamandi Nadam" (2010). She entered Bollywood with "Chashme Baddoor" (2013) and later impressed audiences in films such as "Pink", "Baby", "Naam Shabana", "Thappad" and "Donkey". Her most recent project, "Assi", has been praised for its depth.
In 2013 Tanishaa crossed paths with Danish badminton legend and coach Matthias Bo during the Indian Badminton League. He represented Lucknow Warriors while she served as the brand ambassador for Hyderabad Hotshots. Their friendship evolved into a romance that remained private for nearly a decade, culminating in a wedding ceremony in Udaipur on 23 March 2024.
