The Chhattisgarh Sports Development Authority has been formed by the Sports and Youth Welfare Department of the state government. It is to be noted that Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel had announced the formation of Sports Development Authority in the state to provide better sports infrastructure to the players along with the expansion of sports facilities in Chhattisgarh, which has resulted in the formation of Sports Development Authority. The main objective of the formation of this authority is to make policy decisions in the field of sports, coordination with the departments related to sports, decisions regarding national and international level events as well as financial assistance under the sports development schemes of the Government of India. The Sports Development Authority will formulate an action plan for the construction of new sports infrastructure, as well as an action plan to maintain, conserve and maximize utilization of the assets created. The Authority will use the finance received from Corporate Social Responsibility (BAT) and other areas in the development of sports sector. After receiving the transfer of sports infrastructure of other departments and keeping in view the sports policy of the state, it will carry out other necessary works for the development of sports.
