  • Wimbledon: IBM And The All England Lawn Tennis Club Launch New Generative AI Feature To Enhance Fans Experience |

    New Delhi: IBM and The All England Lawn Tennis Club today announced a new feature for the Wimbledon digital experience that will leverage match data with generative AI from IBM’s AI and data platform, watsonx, to keep fans updated on the world’s leading players as they advance through The Championships.

    The new ‘Catch Me Up’ feature displays pre- and post-match player cards with AI-generated player stories and analysis via wimbledon.com and the Wimbledon 2024 App. Player cards will be personalized based on user preferences and data such as their location and myWimbledon profile, starting with their favourite players. Pre-match content will include analysis of recent performance and likelihood-to-win predictions, and post-match content will include key statistics and highlights. The feature will also create longer-form daily summaries of play.

    New GenAI Feature: 

    ‘Catch Me Up’ was built using IBM’s Granite large language model (LLM) to provide AI-generated text using the capabilities of the watsonx platform. The model has been trained on the Wimbledon editorial style and will be monitored by the All England Club. The new feature is designed to help Wimbledon scale its content to both new and existing tennis fans globally, as well as provide fans access to timelier, curated coverage across ladies’ and gentlemen’s singles matches, which are often happening simultaneously.

    This year, Wimbledon will also use generative AI to provide coverage of a broader range of matches than was previously available, including wheelchair events, to offer more to Wimbledon’s diverse international audience. This will form part of a redesigned digital match center, known as IBM Slamtracker, available on the Wimbledon App and wimbledon.com. Using generative AI built from watsonx, IBM Slamtracker has been enhanced to provide bullet-point-based match previews and post-match reviews for ladies’ and gentlemen’s singles matches.

    Majority Of Tennis Fans Surveyed Positive About AI

    The announcement comes as new research from IBM and Morning Consult reveals that 55% of global tennis fans surveyed think AI will have a positive impact on sports. When considering how generative AI could improve their experience, these respondents prioritized real-time updates (36%), personalized content (31%), and unique insights (30%).

    Approximately one-third (31%) of global tennis fans surveyed use multiple devices while watching sporting events, primarily to get more information, watch multiple matches at the same time, and interact with other fans. In addition, nearly half (47%) of them engage with additional content on tennis daily or weekly and rank summarization and personalization as the two most important features of sports content.

    New Delhi: Online scams, parcel delivery scams, MMDA scams are rampant these days. Fraudsters have been devising newer mechanisms and tricks to dupe vulnerable people, targeting their mobile phones and emails. A latest scam has been exposed by the PIB fact check team.

    PIB has said that if you also received an SMS from India Post Office stating that your package has arrived at the warehouse, further asking you to update your address details within 48 hours to avoid the package being returned, it is a fake one.

    New Delhi: American audio brand has launched the JBL Live Beam 3 True Wireless earbuds with a Smart charging case in India that features a 1.45-inch touchscreen display. The smart charging case provides full control of most features and functions in real-time.  

    Users can use the touchscreen to receive calls, view texts, manage music and get social media alerts without a mobile device or the JBL Headphones app, as the company claims. These earbuds are powered by neodymium drivers. It can offer up to 40 hours of battery life on a single charge.  

    The device is offered in three colour options- Blue, Silver and Black.

    New Delhi: The tech giant Apple has suspended development on the next generation of its high-end Vision Pro headset reportedly. According to The Information report, the company is now prioritising the release of a more affordable version of the headset, which could hit the market by the end of 2025.  

    According to a person involved in its supply chain and one person in the manufacturing of the headsets, the iPhone manufacturer is still working on releasing a more affordable Vision product with fewer features before the end of next year, reportedly.

    The Cupertino-based tech giant Apple is planning to sell its Vision Pro in eight new countries, including China and Japan. This move aims to boost sales of the $3,500 device, which has faced reduced demand following its initial surge in popularity. 

    Moreover, Apple had originally planned to divide its Vision product into two models, similar to the standard and Pro versions of its iPhone reportedly. 

    To recall, Apple unveiled its long-awaited AI strategy and announced a partnership with ChatGPT-maker OpenAI at the annual developer conference earlier this month. The event has boosted Apple’s shares, which have surged more than 11% this year after initially lagging behind other major tech companies because of weaker iPhone demand in China.

    The handset could come with the Aqua Touch technology, akin to the OnePlus 12R. It is said that the smartphone will come with a technology that ensures the screen remains responsive even when wet. Adding further,  the device could sport dual stereo speakers.   • Nothing CMF Phone 1 Launch Date Confirmed In India; Set To Debut Alongside Buds Pro, And Watch Pro- Check Expected Specs |

    New Delhi: British consumer technology brand Nothing has announced the official launch date of the CMF Phone 1 in India. It is the first-ever smartphone by Nothing’s sub-brand which is scheduled to launch on July 8 in the country. Notably, the phone will be released under the CMF by the Nothing brand. 

    Moreover, the company has announced that it will be hosting its next Community Update event on July 8 at 10 AM BST (2:30 PM IST). Apart from the CMF Phone 1, the company is also planning to launch the second generation CMF Buds Pro and CMF Watch Pro on the same date. 

    It is expected that the CMF Phone 1 is expected to be a rebranded version of the Nothing Phone 2a which was launched earlier this year.

    The smartphone is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 SoC and arrives with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB storage. It could feature a 6.67-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It could be loaded with a 5000mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging.     The CMF Phone 1 is expected to be offered in two UFS 2.2 storage variants: 128GB and 256 GB. It is rumoured that the CMF Phone 1 carries a price tag of Rs 19,999. However, the actual price may be slightly lower than the listed amount.

  • Man Sues Apple After Wife Reads Deleted iMessage Chats With Sex Workers |

    New Delhi: USA Tech giant Apple is being blamed and sued by a British businessman for his costly divorce. Now, a British man is suing an iPhone maker for approximately Rs 53 crore. The whole incident arose after his messages to sex workers which he thought were deleted, showed up on the family iMac and read by the man’s wife, leading to divorce proceedings. 

    The middle-aged man, known only as Richard, also claims that the tech giant Apple has failed to inform users that deleting a message on one device does not remove it from all linked devices, as reported by The Times. The man has reportedly called upon London-based law firm Rosenblatt to file a lawsuit against the iPhone maker. However, the roughly Rs 53 crore lawsuit is to seek compensation for the financial losses incurred from the divorce and legal fees. 

    Deleted Message Recovered 

    A man, who chose to remain anonymous, had used iMessage to communicate with sex workers. He thought he had deleted the incriminating messages from his iPhone. Unfortunately, he overlooked the synchronization feature of devices linked by the same Apple ID. 

    In the end, the messages remained accessible on the family’s iMac, leading his wife to file for divorce. 

    Impact On Marriage: 

    He described divorce as an “extraordinarily stressful process,” especially when children and family dynamics are involved. He blamed the ordeal on Apple’s incorrect notification that his messages were deleted, which they were not. He noted that a message confirming the deletion on the device would have been a helpful indication.

    New Delhi: Motorola has announced the official launch date of the Motorola Razr 50 series in the US and China this month. The series includes Motorola Razr 50 and Motorola Razr 50 Ultra smartphones. These phones are expected to come as the successor to the Razr 40 and Razr 40 Ultra, launched last year.  

    The company is set the launch the Motorola Razr 50 series on June 25 in both countries. However, there is no official information currently about the India launch date yet.

    The smartphones could feature the smartphone with shades of Blue and Orange and might be available in seven colour options. Notably, these smartphones are likely to make their global debut in July. It is expected that these devices have been tipped to come with AI features.
