  • ED Freezes Raj Kundra’s Assets, Including Shilpa Shetty’s Juhu Flat, Worth Rs 97 Crore Under PMLA |

    The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday seized assets worth a whopping Rs 98 crore, which includes a luxurious bungalow in Pune and equity shares, all belonging to the renowned actor Shilpa Shetty and her entrepreneur husband Raj Kundra. The case revolves around the misuse of investor funds through the digital currency, Bitcoin. The seized properties comprise a plush residential flat in the upscale Juhu area of Mumbai, currently registered under Shetty’s name, and a residential bungalow in Pune along with equity shares, all in Kundra’s name.

    The ED has issued a provisional attachment order under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), effectively freezing these properties valued at Rs 97.79 crore.

    The roots of this money laundering case trace back to FIRs lodged by the Maharashtra Police and Delhi Police against a company named Variable Tech Pte Ltd and several individuals including Late Amit Bhardwaj, Ajay Bhardwaj, Vivek Bhardwaj, Simpy Bhardwaj, Mahender Bhardwaj, and numerous agents. It was alleged that they had amassed a staggering amount of funds in the form of Bitcoins (valued at Rs 6,600 crore in 2017) from unsuspecting public, luring them with false promises of a 10% monthly return in the form of Bitcoins.

    The promoters are accused of duping the investors and concealing the ill-gotten Bitcoins in obscure online wallets. The ED has alleged that Kundra received 285 Bitcoins from Amit Bhardwaj, the mastermind and promoter of the Gain Bitcoin Ponzi scam, for setting up a Bitcoin mining farm in Ukraine.

    Interestingly, Kundra is still in possession of these 285 Bitcoins, which are currently valued at over Rs 150 crore, as per the ED’s statement.

    An incident of stone-pelting has been reported during the Ram Navami procession in Murshidabad, West Bengal on Wednesday. Specifically, in the Shaktipur area of Rejinagar within Murshidabad district, claims of clashes and violence have emerged on Wednesday evening during the Ram Navami parade, resulting in injuries to some individuals. It is alleged that stone-pelting commenced when the Ram Navami procession was underway, with people seen throwing stones from their rooftops. The situation escalated to the point where the police had to resort to a baton charge. The BJP has accused that Hindu devotees were targeted in Rejinagar.

    According to the news agency PTI, an explosion also occurred during the Ram Navami procession on Wednesday evening in Shaktipur, Murshidabad, injuring a woman. The police reported that the injured woman was taken to the Murshidabad Medical College and Hospital. A police officer stated that the explosion took place on Wednesday evening, injuring a woman. The investigation into the incident is ongoing. However, the officer did not clarify whether the explosion was caused by a bomb or another reason.

    The incident reportedly took place on Wednesday evening in the Shaktipur area when a group was leading the procession on the occasion of Ram Navami. Several videos have gone viral on social media, showing people pelting stones at the procession from their rooftops. The police had to conduct a baton charge and fire tear gas shells to disperse the crowd. The police further stated that the situation has been brought under control, and additional forces have been deployed in the area.

    Meanwhile, BJP leader Amit Malviya tweeted, accusing that Hindu devotees were targeted during the Ram Navami festival in Rejinagar, Murshidabad. Amit Malviya said, “Mamata Banerjee is a blot on West Bengal. She, once again, failed to protect Ramanavami Shobha Yatras. Hindu devotees targeted in Rejinagar, Murshidabad. Hindus are a minority in this area. Just pointing it out, so that she doesn’t blame the Hindus for the attack on themselves…”

    In another post, Amit Malviya stated, “Mamata Banerjee’s provocative communal speeches are responsible for the attack on the Ramnavami Shobha Yatra in Rejinagar, Murshidabad. High time election commission took note of Bengal Chief Minister’s irresponsible utterances, which are leading to targeted violence against the Hindus”

    He shared another video saying, “Bengal is falling apart and Mamata Banerjee is responsible for it. Her vituperative and communal speeches are the reason Ram Bhakts have been attacked across Bengal. After widespread rioting in Murshidabad, now devotees of Shri Ram targeted in Egra, Medinipur. BJP Karyakartas will gherao Egra Police station NOW to protest the brutal attack on Ramanavami Shobha Yatra. Bengal CM must be held to account for failing to protect Bengali Hindus.”

    AAP MP Sanjay Singh emphasized the substantial achievements of the AAP-led governments in Delhi and Punjab, asserting that their exemplary work has garnered recognition from nations across the globe. He underscored Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s pivotal role in realizing the vision of ‘Ram Rajya’ in Delhi and reiterated the party’s commitment to translating this vision into tangible reality.

    “On the occasion of Ram Navami, we are launching a website ‘AAP ka Ram Rajya’. Arvind Kejriwal has done amazing work to fulfil the dream of ‘Ram Rajya’ in Delhi and has presented an example to the world,” the AAP leader said.

    “In these 10 years, we not only formed the government thrice in Delhi but also formed the government in Punjab with an overwhelming majority. The Kejriwal government in Delhi and the Bhagwant Mann government in Punjab have done such work, whose examples are being given by the countries of the world today. Delhi is the only state that has a profitable budget despite doing so much work. We are determined to fulfil our vision of Ram Rajya on the ground,” he said.

She accentuated Kejriwal’s unwavering dedication over the past nine years, likening it to Lord Ram’s steadfast resolve during his exile.

    “Being inspired by Ram Charit Manas, Kejriwal ji has said that he has been working for the last 9 years to fulfil the promises made by him to the people of Delhi and Punjab. Lord Ram had to face a struggle to fulfil Ram Rajya. He went into exile for 14 years but did not break his promise. Kejriwal also had to go through a similar struggle,” she said.

    Furthermore, Atishi emphasized the significance of the website launch as a means to showcase the transformative impact of voting wisely. By showcasing the developmental strides made in Delhi and Punjab, the initiative aims to inspire citizens to make informed electoral choices for a better future. “He (Kejriwal) sends a message from jail, asking if the water, electricity, and health arrangements in Delhi are fine or not. Kejriwal considers the two crore people of Delhi as his family. The work we have done in Delhi and Punjab is being shown to the entire country through the website “Aapka Ram Rajya”. We are doing this so that the people of the country can be told how their lives can change if they cast their vote at the right place,” she added.
