  • Kashmiri Techie Enters NASA’s ‘Hall of Fame’ For Cybersecurity Achievements |

Kulgam: A techie from the Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir has entered NASA’s ‘Hall of Fame’ after identifying vulnerabilities leading to data breaches in its system. Twenty-two-year-old cybersecurity researcher Munib Amin Bhatt achieved this feat after making it to Apple’s ‘Hall of Fame’ in 2023 by reporting vulnerabilities in Apple systems. Munib was also honored with an award by Apple for his contributions.

Muneeb, a resident of Zungalpora village in Kulgam, South Kashmir, reported his findings under NASA’s Vulnerability Disclosure Program (VDP). This program facilitates the awareness of otherwise unknown vulnerabilities to the US agency. Due to VDP guidelines, Munib cannot disclose the specifics of the external vulnerabilities in the NASA system. However, he mentioned that it involved sensitive data exposure.

Muneeb Amin Bhatt said, “I was inducted into the ‘Hall of Fame’ by Apple in 2023. They allowed me to ethically hack their systems to investigate vulnerabilities and report them. They later validated and accepted my findings, adding my name to their ‘Hall of Fame’. Recently, I did the same for NASA, found some vulnerabilities, and reported them. NASA accepted my findings and inducted me into their Hall of Fame. I am extremely happy and proud to help security organizations secure their data.”

Over the past few years, Muneeb has been working tirelessly, identifying vulnerabilities in many organizations. For his efforts, he has received millions of dollars in awards and recognition in various Halls of Fame. He has ethically hacked and secured many international organizations, including Oracle, McDonald’s, Intel, USAA, Indeed, and many others.

“Many organizations around the world improve their security by calling on ethical hackers to help them keep their data safe. They have their own cybersecurity teams, but to ensure complete safety, they invite hackers to investigate their systems. That is why we are invited, and we investigate and report on vulnerabilities. I am extremely happy that my name has been listed in the Hall of Fame,” said Muneeb Ahmad Bhat.

Muneeb is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) degree from IGNOU, having started this after dropping out of a B.Tech program at a private engineering college in Kashmir.

  • Pune Police Detain Father Of Teen Porsche Driver After Crash Killed 2

The police on Tuesday detained the father of the 17-year-old boy, whose speeding Porche killed two IT professionals in Kalyani Nagar area in Pune. As per the local police the teenager’s father was held in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and he is being brought to Pune. As per reports the boy was drunk at the time when the Porche fatally hit two motorbike riders in the early hours of Sunday. Now, the investigation of these cases has been handed over to the crime branch.

Police said, “We have detained the teenager’s father from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and he is being brought to Pune and will be arrested in the case registered against him,” reported PTI quoting Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar.

The police had registered a case against the teenage boy’s dad, who works in real estate, for breaking laws under the Juvenile Justice Act (sections 75 and 77). They also charged the bar’s owners and employees for serving alcohol to someone under 18. Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act relates to “willful neglect of a child, or exposing a child to mental or physical illnesses,” while section 77 is about providing alcohol or drugs to a minor.

The man gave his child the car despite knowing that he did not have a valid driving license, thus putting his son’s life at risk. He also allowed his son to attend parties, even though he was fully aware that his son drinks alcohol, reported PTI citing the FIR.

Following the accident, the minor was apprehended but was granted bail within 15 hours by the Juvenile Justice Board. As a condition of the bail, the board instructed him to compose a “300-word essay” on the topic of road accidents. The board mandated that he undergo counselling at an alcohol de-addiction center, collaborate with the Yerawada traffic police for 15 days, receive treatment for alcohol cessation, and participate in psychiatric counselling, as outlined by defense lawyer Prashant Patil.

  • BSP Should Join INDIA Bloc: Akhilesh Yadav’s Request To Mayawati’s Party In 2024 Polls |

New Delhi: Samajwadi Party leader and candidate from Kannauj Lok Sabha seat Akhilesh Yadav urged the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) to join the INDIA alliance to save the constitution. As the fifth phase of Lok Sabha polls wrapped up on Monday, Yadav exaggerated that this time INDIA bloc is going to secure the victory and will surely form the government.

“I would request the Bahujan Samaj (Party) to help the INDIA alliance to save the Constitution…The (INDIA) alliance will surely form the government,” he said.

Yadav also hits out at the Modi-led government for discriminating against farmers, youth and businessmen for the last 10 years. He further claimed that the BJP will yearn for even 140 seats.

“This government has discriminated against farmers, youth and businessmen for ten years. This election is to protect the Constitution… The public will make them yearn for even 140 seats,” Yadav said.

Earlier, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and SP leader Akhilesh Yadav were forced to cut short the public meeting in Prayagraj’s Phulpur constituency on Sunday after the crowd broke the barricades. This incident created a stampede-like situation.

After the incident, both the leaders of the INDIA Bloc left the rally without addressing the people of the Phulpur constituency. The campaign in Prayagraj was organised in support of SP candidate Amarnath Maurya contesting from the Phulpur Lok Sabha seat.

The workers from both parties went out of control and attempted to reach the stage to get near the prominent leaders Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav.

  • Congress To Move Gauhati HC Over Voting By Police Personnel In LS Polls |

Aizawl: Mizoram Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) on Monday said that it will move the Gauhati High Court against the Election Commission for not facilitating voting for about 1,047 police personnel who were deployed for poll duty in other states. They had failed to cast their votes in the Lok Sabha polls held on April 19 in the state, the MPCC said.

It said that the party had on May 13 written to the state chief electoral officer (CEO) asking him to take steps so that the policemen could exercise their franchise.

As per the reply of the CEO, the Election Commission is unlikely to arrange voting facilities for the policemen, who did not cast during the elections due to their deployment for the Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh, the MPCC said.

The party said that it will file a Public Interest Litigation at the Aizawl bench of Gauhati High Court to ensure that the police personnel cast their votes before the counting of votes.

Although they were supposed to exercise their franchise at facilitation centres, no such arrangements could be made for them as they had to leave the state, before the candidates could be finalised, due to direction from higher authorities, officials said.

The state election department has claimed that it requested the Election Commission at least two times to allow the police personnel to cast their votes for the lone Mizoram Lok Sabha seat.

However, the Central poll panel rejected the requests, the CEO office in the state said.

On Saturday, the People’s Conference (PC) party also wrote to the Election Commission principal secretary S B Joshi, urging the poll panel to allow 1,047 policemen from Mizoram, to cast their votes.

The party blamed the authorities for failing to arrange the Electronically Transmitted Postal Ballot System (ETPBS) for the police personnel.

It said that 1,047 votes will have a meaningful impact on the poll results in a small state like Mizoram.

  • ‘Modi Ji’s Retirement Necessary For Youth To Get Employment’: Rahul Gandhi |

New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi retirement from politics is necessary as it will prove beneficial for the youth to get more employment opportunities in the future.

In a post on X, Rahul Gandhi said, “Whatever I want Narendra Modi to say, I can get it said. There is just one more word left to come out of their mouths: unemployment. Modi ji’s retirement is necessary for the youth to get employment.”

Earlier in March, Rahul Gandhi claimed that India’s unemployment rate is double compared to Pakistan’s and said the situation has been the outcome of the poor financial politics of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“The country is facing injustice on many fronts. There is economic and social injustice. Farmers are facing injustice. Our country is facing the worst unemployment rate in the last 40 years. India’s unemployment rate is double that of Pakistan. 23 per cent of youth were unemployed in India and 12 per cent in Pakistan. Our unemployment rate is higher than in Bhutan and Bangladesh as well,” he said.

According to a 2022 World Bank report, India’s youth unemployment rate stood at 23.22 per cent, surpassing that of its neighbouring countries Pakistan (11.3 per cent) and Bangladesh (12.9 per cent).

Rahul Gandhi on Friday challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi again over public debate and claimed that he is ready but the PM will disagree, adding that PM Modi is incapable of answering questions about his “links” with a few favoured businessmen and how he “misused” electoral bonds.

“He (PM Narendra Modi) gave 30-35 interviews to the same 5-10 journalists. 2-3 intellectuals and journalists wrote to me and made public announcements. They also wrote to Narendra Modi and said that there should be a debate in democracy, it is essential; that he should have debate with Rahul Gandhi…I am ready, Narendra Modi can have a debate with me wherever he wants. What do you think, will he come to have a debate with me? No, he can’t…Narendra Modi can’t have a debate,” Rahul Gandhi said addressing a rally in Delhi.

Referring to PM Modi’s recent claim that Congress gets money Adani-Ambani in tempos, Rahul said, “PM Modi talks about Congress getting tempo-loads of money from Adani-Ambani, but he doesn’t dare to get it probed.”

He further said that PM Modi did nothing for small businessmen but gave Rs 16 lakh crore to industrialists like Adani-Ambani.”Tell me whatever you want Narendra Modi to say, I will make him say that in his speeches. I told him, “Narendra Modi, you don’t mention the names of Adani-Ambani. You should mention their names.” 2-3 days later, Narendra Modi said “Adani-Ambani, Adani-Ambani,” he said.

Reacting to several opposition leaders joining BJP “fearing CBI-ED action”, Rahul said, “We don’t want ‘darpok’ leaders to stay with us, only want ‘Babbar Sher’.”
Rahul Gandhi further said that one woman from each of these families will be selected and Rs 1 lakh per annum will be deposited in the account of that woman by the INDIA bloc.

  • PM Modi Rebuts Mamata’s Comment On Ramakrishna Mission Monks As ‘Vote Bank’ Politics |

New Delhi: Prime Minister and BJP senior leader Narendra Modi condemned West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s remarks against the Ramakrishna Mission and Bharat Sevashram Sangha monks. While addressing the rally in West Bengal’s Purulia on Sunday, Modi said that TMC has crossed all the limits by stooping so low that it is “spreading canards against ISKCON, Ramakrishna Mission and Bharat Sevashram Sangha”

“The TMC, which has intimidated and threatened the people of Bengal during elections, has crossed all limits this time. Today, in the country and the world, ISKCON, Ramakrishna Mission and Bharat Sevashram Sangh are known for service and morality, but the chief minister of Bengal is openly threatening them from an open platform…They are threatening them just to appease their vote bank” he said.

    — Amit Malviya (मोदी का परिवार) (@amitmalviya) May 19, 2024

Earlier, CM Banerjee during his poll rally in Goghat under the Arambagh Lok Sabha constituency on Saturday claimed that some mocks of the Ramakrishna Mission and Bharat Sevashram Sangha are working under the BJP leader’s influence.

“Some monks of Ramakrishna Mission and Bharat Sevashram Sangha are working under the influence of BJP leaders in Delhi. Those who are looking after temples are doing great spiritual jobs, but everyone is not doing so. This is not done. We respect the monks,” she said.

PM Modi further added that these organisations have millions of followers across the world and they aim to serve the people.

“The Bengal government has pointed fingers at them. So much courage! Just to please their vote bank?” PM Modi said.

Meanwhile, Modi accused Banerjee during his Bishnupur rally and said that she was under the pressure of Muslim fundamentalists and attacking the saints and monks of the country.

“In their desperation, TMC leaders have started hurling abuses at prestigious organisations like ISKCON, Ramakrishna Mission, and Bharat Sevashram Sangha. These organisations have brought glory to Bengal, but the CM of the state claims they are ruining Bengal. Under pressure from Muslim fundamentalists, she has publicly insulted our faith,” he added.
